Beauty – Defined differently (Article of May’2016)

What is Beauty?

When we think of beauty what comes to mind of many of us is a beautiful face, good looks (especially of females). And our memories automatically take us back to our school & college times and we start day dreaming.
This is all fine, natural and the general response you will get if you ask anyone of your friends or relatives.

But I feel this is a very limited way of looking at beauty.

There are so many beautiful things in the world around you :

1. The shine in the eyes of a poor lady to whom you donate clothes is beauty.
2. The old man whom you help in crossing the street and his response to you by a glowing face and good wishes to you is beauty.
3. Whenever you see a football goal being scored, a cricketer scoring a century, a great catch – you suddenly shout – what a beauty?  And others watching TV don’t understand what is it all about – that’s also beauty. (on hearing your beauty shout, our friends from the young generation may try to spot good faces from the audience – but that’s a different story)
4. The flora and fauna of mother nature, the sun rising in the sky, the good qualities in people around you, just the fact that you are living in this wonderful world – all is beauty.
5. Having wonderful friends like you is beauty, the nostalgic moments when we meet our classmates, college friends, our teachers – that is also beautiful.

So friends I feel beauty lies in appreciating the good things in life, the good qualities in people, the good things around us, appreciating our soldiers who fight for our country.

All of us are beautiful in our own special way. The key is to appreciate the diversity in beauty that each person has.

So the next time when you think of beauty, take a pause and just give a thought to these things.

Because as they say ……………………………………………………….. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.
Do enjoy the beauty of life.

With these beautiful thoughts in mind, I wish you all a beautiful day today.
